Dear Governor Palin, Please Help Us Stop Amnesty By Calling Us To Action!

Dear Sarah,

I have never asked you for anything, but I am asking you to please lead the charge in helping us stop the Amnesty Bill from passing in the House.

RUBIO is R.I.P. for me, so is McCain and the rest of the Gang of 8. Their careers mean nothing. Our country does. We're stuck cleaning the damage they did by passing Amnesty in the Senate. As if that was not enough, they have the gall  to continue working against us by targeting House Republicans to pass it there (see link below).  They are disrespecting Americans and disregarding the Rule of Law.
This AMNESTY bill is beatable, but ACTIVISM is needed.  We can target our representatives the way big business and the Gang of 8 have targeted them.

Focus is the key to success. I'm here to focus, not squander time. Based on all that I have read so far, if Amnesty passes, it will create a permanent progressive majority, and add an estimated 30 million new Democratic voters after all is said and done. I am stunned by those numbers, and the fact that not one election has garnered the Hispanic vote for Republicans, so why do Republicans vote for it?
I believe our Representatives need to hear and know the facts.  I've quoted these stats several times - from a Pew Research Poll Mark Levin read on his show: http://wwwthefollowup.blogspot

Numbers don't lie. The message is short, quick to read and easy to pass along to our Representatives who seem to be clueless and poorly informed on the matter. Pompous and pretentious Eric Cantor is on a "Become America" tour to educate us on Immigration Reform. I believe we need to remind Cantor, Boehner, and Ryan that their job is to protect us, not to jeopardize our national security by pushing an agenda that legalizes illegals. Terrorists do a good job of gaming the system every time politicians weaken the laws.  Making laws about feelings is not the purpose of making laws!

So, I ask: Where is the urgency to stop this bill???

Sarah, the last time you called on us to contact our Senators we did. It made a huge difference!  Here we have a supposed majority in the house. We could win, but we have no leadership in the House. (Both mean well, but Michele Bachmann is too ineffective and Steve King only has 12,000 likes on his page.) We need someone who gets results by calling us, the troops, to action. It is my belief that it is better to be not to wait until the bill is passed to have twenty-twenty hind sight and complain about what happened after the fact.  Like I said at the beginning. I couldn't care less about anyone's career. I care about the country.

We can continue to push for Hillary, the White House and the Pentagon to be convicted over Benghazi (we need aggressive investigations), and we can continue to support Ted Cruz and others in defunding ObamaCare, but this particular issue can be stopped. Now. It is within our power to:

Seize the Opportunity. Act. And Make a Difference.

Darling Trey Gowdy has betrayed this country by pushing for a "humanitarian pathway to citizenship", from I understand, to grease and line his fancy former-prosecuting pockets. I do believe that if enough pressure is applied, though, we can teach our Representatives the evils of this bill. We can make them see (with proof) that it is a communist-conceived agenda, and that all they are doing is helping to make that communist dream come true. I love the word communist.

Luis Gutierrez, former Marxist-Leninist of the Socialist Party in Puerto Rico, was enlisted by John Boehner to co-write the bill.  Paul Ryan is in charge of making sure Republicans vote for it.  Ryan makes no sense trying to justify the bill or his own actions. He wouldn't even go on Mark Levin's show after meeting with Gutierrez, even though the communist agitator and amnesty activist (I refuse to call Gutierrez a far left liberal) proudly displays photos of Ryan visiting Chicago on his wall. If Ryan wouldn't talk to Mark Levin, why would we expect him or anyone else in DC to listen to our concerns? (Ryan eventually went on the show, but it shows the alienation and distance they have with their base).

I have tried to call attention to the matter on Twitter, Facebook, and my own wall, and there is interest, but the Zimmerman trial and the non-issue of race relations dominates the news. It is disappointing that our own network is intentionally not covering Immigration Reform. This results in Amnesty being inexistent, and I find the complacency unsettling! Let's not wait until its too late.

Congress is in Recess August 2nd. That's our chance. South Carolina, Virginia, Ohio are in particular states that can help overturn this bill, according to Steve King. Maybe we can stop some representatives on the target list from being tempted to sell us out. Maybe we can do Town Halls.

Definitely we need to contact our Representatives not just via email, or voicemail, or even once! WE just need to show up and make some noise locally, often and like lobbyists who nag their own (nicely of course). But we can't sit around and do nothing.

AMNESTY is not about our leaders, their corruption or even jobs, it's about National Security and the preservation of a two-party system. Let's not feel sorry for anyone. Let's put this on top of our
agenda and do something about it today!

Thank you, Sarah.  If you made this call to get us moving I would be grateful..

I am, faithfully yours,

Isabel

P.S.  I love this picture of you. It shows you don't let anyone invade your space. I would trust you not to lead by not letting anyone invade (or reward anyone for crossing) our borders illegally, and I'm a proud Hispanic.
fists up Sarah

Arguing With An Idiot: Mark and Heather Dismantle Jeb Bush's Talking Points!

Mark Levin was Ed Meese's Chief of Staff in Reagan's administration. Recently he offered having a debate on Immigration Reform with Heather Mac Donald and Ed Meese as debaters. Heather Lynn Mac Donald, of the Manhattan Institute, essayist and expert on Immigration Reform and Law, to discuss what Jeb Bush said at the Faith and Freedom Coalition on June 22nd. She was on Mark's show following that appearance. She and Mark dismantle each one of Jeb's arguments in favor of Immigration Reform.

(1)
Jeb Bush says..

"The only way that we can rebuild the demographic pyramid is to fix a broken immigration system to allow for people to come, to learn English, to play by our rules, to embrace our values, and to pursue their dreams in our country with a vengeance to create more opportunities for all of us. This is a conservative idea.  And if we do this, we will rebuild our country in a way that will allow us to grow. If we don't do it, we will be in decline because the productivity of this country is dependent upon young people that are equipped to work hard."
Heather Mac Donald rebuts..

I particularly love the "playing by our rules". They come here by not playing by our rules The most amazing thing about this amnesty bill will allow people with criminal records and with a number of arrests and misdemeanor convictions to get amnesty, people Karl Rove refers to of strong, proven moral character. So we have an utter attack on the Rule of Law. What no one is talking about is that we already have already discredited enforcement.  Every immigration hearing at this point has protestors in the back with signs saying no more deportation. Even if we give them this amnesty, the next day, a border agent or someone from ICE who ensures this country, finds someone here illegally, deportation is not going to happen.

That other comment is absurd. Nothing in this bill requires the actual acquisition of English. It's merely an intent to lure the crowd. What we're already seeing absent in the group of another 30 million immigrants in the future of this bill, is an utter failure of people to adopt our common language. Take Marco Rubio, for example, who went behind American's backs in the Spanish Language Media, saying one thing in Spanish to the Spanish-speaking audience, that legalization comes first, before enforcement, the opposite message of what he had been saying to the English-speaking audiences. I find it a shocking betrayal and a sign of why we should worry about the fact that people are not learning English.

She ends the segment by commending Senator Sessions who did an extraordinary job at offering amendment after amendment, and Senator Grassley to an extent, but that the bottom line for border security measurable success to secure the border, not just plans. "It has been shown to be a complete fraud."

(2)
Jeb Bush says..

"Immigrants created far more businesses than native-born Americans over the last twenty years.  Immigrants are more fertile and they love families and they have more tight families, and they bring in a younger population."
Heather Mac Donald rebuts...

That is a lie! There is no difference at all in the business creation rates between immigrants and native Americans. What Bush and everybody else does constantly is conflate high-skilled and low-skilled immigrants, and among the low-skilled Hispanic immigrants, they ignore cultural differences.

I'm reluctant to bring it on air, but it is true. There is a culture confrontation among South American immigrants, and those from Mexico and Central America.

I spoke to a lot of Hispanic Entrepreneurs for an article I wrote recently about California, and I wanted to give the best possible picture of Californian Hispanic Entrepreneurs, and I went to a Democratic Latino pollster and said give me the best people I can talk to give the positive side of the story, and I did. They were all Columbians, Ecuadorians, Cubans and Spaniards who had come. One woman from Ecuador who runs a publishing business she says her own work place is divided.

The idea that overall a group has a greater rate of business creation is wrong. It ignores the differences among immigrant groups, high-skilled immigrants. Everybody talks about Sergey Brin. That's a different matter than somebody who's come in.(Mark interrupts to find out who he is.)

Sergey Brin gave us some of our greatest computer innovations, and is involved in Google, and everybody points to him, but he came in with a high levels of education. Very few people are opposing high-skilled immigrants who do have very high rates of business creation, but that's not what this bill is about.

It would have been another thing if Jeb Bush had followed through on the recommendations of his book which is to tilt the immigration towards a high-skilled immigration then we've lost on that count, we've run out on those kinds of advocates, and we've preserved our system of mostly family-based immigration, chain migration, which is going to bring in more of the low-skilled population.

Mark: This is what also bothers me about his statement. They characterize foreigners who come here illegally as virtuous, as noble, as entrepreneurs, and they put down the native population, the very people who put them in office, the very people that government exists to defend and nurture. So the American people are treated like second-class citizens, and it is the immigrant, the illegal immigrant, who is so much better.
Poverty rates

Heather:  Among Hispanics, it's twice as high. This is now native-born Hispanics. Second, third generation Hispanics have a much higher rate of Welfare consumption, not because they are not working. They are in the work force, most of them, but because their skill level is so low.

Mark interjects to look who is coming across the border - not rocket scientists or engineers - it's poor people escaping the cronyism and what goes on in the Mexican government. So of course, they're poor, they're less skilled.  They're less literate. That's your point.

Heather:  The rate of welfare and poverty actually goes up with second, third generation Hispanics in this country, which is extremely odd, and just another sign that what is happening is a certain rate of assimilation to an underclass. The argument that we also hear from Jeb Bush and Rubio is that it will have a wonderful effect on bailing out our bankrupt entitlement programs, because they're going to pay taxes, but they're not paid in taxes enough to compensate for the cost of education and health care, and other programs.

Mark: None of us have enough money to pay for this massive implosion of a welfare state. Let's slash these programs instead!
Amnesty

MarkPaul Ryan is saying (talking point) "This isn't Amnesty.  Amnesty wipes the slate clean." Mark says Amnesty (to him) is you're here illegally and now you're legal!

Heather:  That is exactly what is does. Amnesty does wipe the slate clean. The fact that you have to pay a minimum fine of $500 to get immediately legalized after this bill is passed, doesn't make it not an amnesty. The point of an amnesty is you're no longer illegal. So we have tax amnesty, too,
that usually requires a back payment of taxes that we consider an amnesty, because your status as a tax lawbreaker, is canceled. So that is a basic fact, but beyond that, if you want to quibble about the details, the law is filled of loopholes of how you can get away from paying a minimum amount of fines whether imposed, and the notion that the illegal aliens are going to pay their back taxes, that doesn't make it not an amnesty. That's incorrect. There's no obligation requiring the illegal aliens to come forward and honor how much taxes they have to pay. That's not going to happen. In any case, what it gets the people here exactly is what they want, which is fully legal status. I'm amazed that Republicans aren't fighting harder, and see that just because there's a few hurdles which are trivial, does not make it not an amnesty.
(3)
Jeb Bush says...

3.  "Canada is the place we might want to look to. Canada has one tenth our population. They have more "economic immigrants" and they have seen sustained economic growth because of it. We should..."
 Heather MacDonald rebuts:

Heather: I'm amazed that Jeb Bush has the gall to bring up Canada, because Canada is looking at high-skilled immigrants. Canada uses skills as a point system, so if you speak English, you get in, if you have Advanced Education, you get in. That would be a proposal the Republicans could get behind. But in Canada they don't have what we have - a mass flow of uneducated immigrants, who may mean well, but I would invite Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio to go in to the middle schools in Los Angeles to see single mothers coming in to talk with the anti-gang counselors of the school to try to figure out how to keep their teen males out of gang culture, and stop hanging on the streets of Los Angeles, because these mothers who are single mothers who have also, while we're at it, Mark, deceived the Hispanic "family values" myth. Hispanics now have now a 53% out-of-wedlock birth rate, twice what the black illegitimacy rate was in '55, when then Daniel Patrick Moynihan so presciently said that a 23% illegitimacy rate among blacks signaled a major social catastrophe. I would invite Bush and Rubio to come with me to some schools in LA to where they will see the effects of massive, low-skilled immigration, which is what the Gang of Eight Bill is going to bring us. The Hispanic out-of-wedlock rate is twice that of Whites and Asians.

Black 73%
Hispanic 53%
Hispanic American 43%
White 23%
Asians 16%

Mark:  I have two last questions 1) I keep hearing we have to bring illegal aliens out of the shadows. They're not in the shadows!  2) We can't maintain their status like this. I'm thinking to myself: Are people dragged across the border. Why is my responsibility to confer rights and benefits to people who are here illegally? Why is this my number one priority?

Heather: We are constantly hearing that we are responsible for breaking up families, and they're responsible! They came here fully assuming the risk of being illegal. This is not a problem that won't take care of itself. Their kids through the idiocy of birth-right citizenship, their kids who were born here are American citizens. We are not to blame. The Rule of Law is not to blame

***************

It is too bad a debate was not held. Yesterday was the first day the Amnesty went to the House. The first meeting was behind closed doors. Boehner promised the bill would not be like the Senate's, but after the article I wrote yesterday, I have no faith the bill will be destroyed. We are on the right side of the issue, but the cards are stacked against us with traitors like Paul Ryan and John Boehner at the helm.It is still worth trying to call our representatives and maybe using some of the arguments against Amnesty that Heather laid out so well.

The Hispanic Vote in the Republican Party

When you call your Representatives http://www.house.gov/represent ... you can tell them AMNESTY does not help garner votes for the GOP. These statistics are from the Pew Research Center were used on Mark Levin's show last month:

Hispanic Voting History in the GOP

1980  56% Carter     Reagan    35%
1984  61% Mondale Reagan    37%
1988  69% Dukakis  Bush 41   30%
(Amnesty in 1986 resulted in a 7% drop for Bush 41)
1992  61% Clinton   Bush 41   25%
1996  72% Clinton   Dole         21%
2000  62% Gore       Bush 43   35%
(After 6 yrs as Texas Governor, Bush trails Gore by 27%)
2004  58% Kerry     Bush 43   40%
2008  67% Obama   McCain   31%
2012  71% Obama   Romney   27%

Amnesty was granted in 1986, and about 2.6 million illegals were legalized, but only one fourth voted for Bush 41. Bob Dole supported amnesty, and his score was the lowest of all, 21%.

Sarah Palin on John Kerry and Obama Lying to Us while Egypt is in Crisis!

Must I Repeat? Quit Making Things Up!

Outrageous. Once again the cover-up is worse than the “crime.” Secretary of State John Kerry WAS
on his boat while Egypt fell into turmoil resulting in an overthrow of its new government ruled by the Muslim Brotherhood that the Obama Administration had so recently supported and may still support. (That, however, we do not know because President Obama's absolutely dithering foreign policies, his "leading from behind," and his benign statements on the Muslim Brotherhood make no sense to sensible people.)

The State Department categorically denied Kerry was on his boat. Yet CBS had pictures to prove it. Goodness. There is no need to lie, even on such a "little" thing as the location of a government leader during a military confrontation happening in real time. (Benghazi? Ring a bell? There still isn't anyone in the media who'll find out where our Commander-in-Chief was that night.)

Come on, Obama Administration! It's no big darn deal that Kerry was on his boat! We expect, and deserve, to assume that our highest ranking public servants to whom We the People have given the most responsibility are always working – even when they're clearing their heads and breathing in some fresh air on a yacht, or sweating away stress on a basketball court, or yukking it up with pals on the fairway... let's trust they're always preparing for the proverbial 3:00 AM phone call.

Being on his boat isn't the issue. Blatantly deceiving the American people is the issue.

Our government, yet again, either had no idea where the boss was, or worse yet, they lied to us. (Oops-a-daisy. Correction. In Obamaspeak, we were told the "least untruthful statement.") Our government directed its swift-ly boat changing denials to what one can only surmise is their perception of who we are: a nation of sheep – heads down, grazing away, gullible, ignorant, and undeserving of truth.

Confronted with photographic evidence, the State Department merely tossed the public a handful of hay today in its tepid effort to kinda-sorta explain the whole thing away. Something about, well, yeah, so the evidence contradicted all their public claims, but… eh, no harm, no foul. And like good herder dogs, with calm authority to avoid commotion, the bureaucrats barked the suggestion that we all just move along now.

No. You move along, little doggie. Enough is enough. It's unacceptable. Remember, the nation's Mama Grizzlies don't just rise up to swat away threats to protect the next generation. They also school, scold, and signal to teach a lesson. One lesson taught all children is if you lie on the little things, you'll lie on the big things.

George Orwell wrote of a time when citizens could no longer trust big government, and by wearing down the citizenry through doublespeak and lies a tired country finally retreated to its dark and depressing demise.

America, we shall not go there! Why? Because if we know from our nation's forefathers that weariness is not in our blood! It's not in our DNA to retreat. Have faith that there are enough patriots in our exceptional nation willing to fight together for what is right. Proof of this is all the families still encouraging and supporting their loved ones who choose U.S. military service. And proof of a unified commitment to defend our republic is what the independent tea party movement is all about.

Disregard the constant criticism, mocking, and flagrant lies about this diverse, proud movement that still spew from big government cheerleaders and their lapdogs in the media. Despite harassment and intimidation, commonsense conservatives are rising up again to get a better view of what is ahead.

They are identifying threats to our Constitution and our children's future. The permanent political class angrily bemoans this because they know our diverse working class – those who make the world go 'round – can shake off the slumber, unify, and effectively encourage others to come out of a 2012 hibernation and demand accountability at the 2014 ballot box. It's there we prove the average, everyday American's ferocious strength when exercising that beautiful belief in loyalty only to a government of the people, by the people, for the people. Until then, we mustn't have the fighting instinct of sheep. Pay attention, do your own homework on candidates and political machines, turn off media that would disrespect you by continuing to deceive, and keep the faith.

While celebrating America's glorious Independence this week, be secure in knowing that there are more of us who support men and women ready and willing to fight on our behalf for freedom and truth than those who would continually deceive us. Thank God. And thank a Vet.

State Department: say you're sorry and don't ever do this again. CBS News: thank you for doing your job on this issue.

Happy 4th of July weekend, America.

House Republicans Busted on "Benghazi: The Truth Behind The Smokescreen" by Bret Baier

Many of you may have missed it on television, so I urge you to watch the report that aired on Friday, June 28th on the Benghazi scandal. It is compelling, disturbing and to be continued, I hope!
After spending nine hours putting Bret Baeir's report in writing (I was so riveted I couldn't resist!), I can say there were explosive details like the promo advertised, the biggest one for me (because I hate the GOP and always want proof they are against us), can be found at the very end of the article (the tease is already in the title).  I looked up all of the names mentioned in the report myself because I like know who is doing what wrong when bad things happen.

What happened in Benghazi was not just a tragedy, but a blatant, negligent and criminal act on the part of our Government, Obama's government. It is curious to me that most of the so-called "tragedies" Clinton cited at the very  beginning of the report seemed to be under Democratic Presidents who are usually dangerously naïve or just weak in foreign affairs (I am being kind). The attacks on our soil were incremental, leading to 9/11, the worst one yet.

Speaking of Hillary, after seeing her again today, I was reminded of how repulsive Mrs. Clinton is. She is a villain of the highest order.  She is corrupt.  She has blood on her hands, and she should never be allowed to run for President. She should hang her head in shame, and so should every Republican who defends her, including Rinos like Jeb Bush, John McCain and Marco Rubio, who is now officially a member of the GOPe brotherhood. When they cover for her by thwarting any efforts to investigate infiltration at the highest ranks in our government. That leads me to believe they all have something to hide. I continue to push for our leaders and journalists to
EXPOSE infiltration in the GOP, as Michele Bachmann seems to be out to lunch quite a bit lately.
The story of Benghazi seems to strike a deep chord in all of us. The way these Americans died was preventable. It is just so much crueler than the other scandals on Obama's watch. It is no wonder seventy-one percent of Americans want Congress to continue investigating the Benghazi attacks. (I have news for the American public, and it isn't good; but for the sake of this post, I will keep my lack of optimism about Congress's will to do what is right to myself.)

The report begins with a background description of the politics leading up to September 11th, 2012: (U.S. policies towards terrorism),  the attack itself, and the possible presidential cover-up about what happened that night.  The political and bureaucratic smokescreen makes Benghazi not just a tragedy, according to Baeir, but a scandal.  The written information is below the clip.  I found the video in an article in Bizpacreview this morning.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=oWwFmZfr5y0]

1.  Background Politics
Hillary Clinton states before Congress that to understand Benghazi, one must go back a few years.  Benghazi joins long list tragedies for America: 1979 - the Tehran Hostage situation, 1983 - the Embassy and Marine Barracks were bombed in Beirut, 1996 - Saudi Arabia Khobar Towers.
Islamic supremacism is the motivating cause of these attacks, according to Andrew McCarthy, former federal prosecutor who won the conviction of the blind Sheik who wanted to bomb New York tunnels and landmarks in the 1990's.  The ideology, which has not changed, has fueled attacks since the 70's.

The difference between the Obama administration and its critics, is the lessons learned from that history. President Bush treated 9/11 as an act of international terrorism, to be dealt with as an aggression against the U.S. by a hostile power. Obama's approach was to deny there was a global war on terror. Smart diplomacy would manage the problems in the Middle East and elsewhere.

June 24, 2009 Obama's apology tour began with his speech in Cairo. It was followed by the brutal suppression of Iran's Green Revolution, an uprising in Tunisia, and a popular revolt against Mubarak "the Arab Spring", in Egypt, presenting Obama with a defining foreign policy crisis in the Middle East.
He was forced to explain his intervening in a civil war in Libya to stop the blood bath by Gadhafi in an otherwise unknown place, Benghazi.

September, 2012. A Coptic Christian from a jail cell in Southern California came up with a loopy scheme to make a low-budget film called Desert Warrior. His message to the world:  "Be careful. Evil (Terrorism Culture) coming from the East." It was released upon his parole and became part of the smokescreen that obscured the truth what happened on the 11th anniversary of 9/11/2001.
To this day, it is unknown where the story of the Mohammed video came from.

2. Fox NEWS timeline
Using unclassified and investigated reports released from Congress and the State Department, and public Presidential remarks, as sources, as well as their own investigative reporting, Fox News comes up with a timeline showing how disastrous decisions led to deadly consequences.
 hot air 1
October, 2011  - Benghazi was supposed to be safe from violence.  The American compound built West of the city is heavily secured. The "Annex", now known as a CIA facility, is more than a mile away.
Tripoli is the capitol of Libya. Based there is a Department of Defense Sub-Security Team with Special Forces capability.

February, 2012 Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Wood, in charge of the SS team in Tripoli, is asked, despite security incidents every three days in the Spring of 2012, to leave Libya by summer's end.

March 28th - Americans send the Secretary of State a cable requesting more security.

April 6th. A bomb is tossed over the Benghazi compound.

April 19th: Clinton's reply: SECURITY WOULD BE SCALED BACK (an exchange she later denied.)

June 6th, an IED is placed at the compound's North gate. No one is hurt, again. Christopher Stevens is the newly named Ambassador asks to keep two security teams the State Department had ordered to be removed.

June 11th:  His request was denied. Brits pull out of Benghazi after an ambush on a convoy with the British Ambassador, and his security squad who were hurt.

June 25th: Stevens sends cable, warns of a deteriorating situation where Libyan extremists are targeting international organizations and foreign interests.
Hollywood Nakoula Basseley Nakoula renames his movie "Innocence of Muslims". The movie portrays the prophet Mohammed as a homicidal gay child molester. The film is released but no one shows up to see it.

July 2nd: A trailer for the film is uploaded by "Sam Bacile"(alias) to YouTube.

July 6th: Americans in Libya are even more concerned about terror attacks.
Charlene LAMB, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Diplomatic Security, sends back a response urging them not to make formal requests for an extension of the security teams set to leave in August.  Discouraging them was putting it mildly.

August 8th: Ambassador Stevens sends cable: "What we have seen are not random crimes of
opportunities but rather targeted and discriminate attacks." Less than a week later, Lieutenant Colonel Wood and his team leave the country.

Secretary Clinton pushes Ambassador Stevens to increase U.S. diplomatic presence in the city. According to Stevens, Clinton wanted Benghazi converted into a permanent constituent post. The timing was important, because he (Stevens) needed to report before September 30th, end of the fiscal year.

September 6th:  John Kerry at the Democratic National Convention in  Charlotte, North Carolina: "Today, without a single American casualty, Moammar Gadhafi is gone, and the people of Libya are free!" The same day, Morris Sadak, anEgyptian-American Coptic Christian activist, emails journalists to promote a 9/11 event with Koran-burning pastor Terry Jones, including a link to Nakoula's YouTube trailer.

September 8th:   Cairo. Popular Islamist broadcaster airs portions of trailer. Outrage ensues.

September 9th:  As Ambassador Stevens gets ready to leave Tripoli for Benghazi, he is warned by Diplomatic Security Officer, Alec Henderson, that the Feb. 17th Martyr's Brigade can't be trusted to protect him.

September 10th Benghazi. Local Media is present upon Ambassador Stevens  arrival in the city, which was supposed to be secret.
 Stevens and Twin Towers Cropped

6:43 am Benghazi Libyan police officer atop a building next door is caught photographing the interior of the American compound.

12:00 noon Sean Smith, Information Management Officer, messages a friend "Assuming we don't die tonight, we saw one of 'our police' that guard the compound taking pictures."

12:11 pm Cairo.  U.S. Embassy staffers release a statement about Nakoula's video "We firmly reject the actions by those who reject the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others."

6:45 pm Egyptian embassy is stormed. Greg Hicks calls Stevens in Benghazi. America's #2 man in Libya, Greg Hicks, reaches out to Ambassador Stevens and testifies that he was unaware of the Embassy being stormed in Cairo where they had been trying to tear down the American flag.  No sign of protest in Benghazi.

9:00 pm Ambassador Stevens and Sean Smith retire for the evening in the main residence. Four diplomatic security agents accompany them: including lead offer, Scott Wickland, and Alec Henderson.

9:42 pm Agent Henderson hears shots and an explosion. He sounds an alarm.(Charlene Lamb testifies): He alerted the quick reaction security team stationed nearby, the Libyan's Feb 17 Brigade, the Embassy in Tripoli, and the Diplomatic Security Command Center in Washington.
Meanwhile, the attackers enter the main gate without warning or resistance from the Brigade.
In Tripoli, Hicks finds out the Embassy is under attack. He calls Stevens who's hiding with Sean Smith in the safe haven. Attackers set the residence ablaze.  The safe haven fills with thick dark smoke.  Former Navy Seals Tyrone Woods and other agents at the Annex, more than a mile away, get their weapons ready. They were mobilizing an to repel the attack.

9:59 pm An unarmed surveillance drone hits towards the compound. Hicks calls State Department in Washington (4 pm) to report the attack.  Testifies he reported an attack on the consulate, not a protest connected to a YouTube video.

4:05 pm Washington. An internal State Department Ops alert warns Benghazi special mission was under attack. (Hillary testifies that she was notified of the attack after 4 pm, spoke to Tom Donilon, National Security Advisor. Instructed Senior Officials to break down the doors of the Libyan officials to get as much security support as they possibly could.)
Mark Thompson, State Department Counter Terrorism Official, wanted to immediately dispatch the U.S. Ford Emergency Support Team, called FEST, which is on alert to do just this mission. He notified the White House that they needed to act now, not wait.  At the annex, sources tell Fox News the CIA Team is told to stand down twice. An independent Accountability Review Board appointed by the State Department concluded the CIA officers were "not delayed by orders from superiors".

10:07 pm  Benghazi. The CIA team leaves the Annex anyway, bound for the compound.

10:45 pm  When asked if he got help from the Pentagon, Hicks testified that he asked the Defense Attache if anything was coming. The short answer was, No. So, Hicks said, thank you very much, and they went on with their work.

10:54 pm Benghazi. The six-man response team from the Annex drives the attackers out of the compound. By that time, Sean Smith has been burnt dead, but nobody can find Ambassador Stevens.

5:00 pm Washington. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta attends weekly meeting with the President. He testified that he ordered all available DOD assets to respond. (Bret Baier interjects:  but none outside Libya will.) The quickest response option available was a security team that was located at the Embassy in Tripoli. (Bret Baier interjects:  but the Americans had no plane in Tripoli).
Hicks testifies that they agreed they would go forward with chartering a plane to fly a response team to Benghazi to provide additional reinforcements.

11:10 pm  Benghazi. A U.S. drone armed only with cameras begins circling above the compound. Five minutes later, a second wave of attackers arrives. Hicks testifies that the Annex team withdrew from the facility when the second wave of attackers took it over.
Senator Graham asks if anyone left any base anywhere to go to the aid of the people under attack in Benghazi, Libya, before the attack ended? Panetta: "No. Because the attack ended before they could go on the ground." Senator Lee points out this was an attack that lasted nearly 8 hours from start to finish.

Panetta replies: "There was this initial attack on the facility at Benghazi. Frankly we thought that was the end of what had occurred there. And we had no intelligence that a second attack would take place at the Annex two miles away."

September 11th turns into the 12th
Bret Baier describes Benghazi as "a modern-day Alamo, a handful of brave Americans facing terrible odds, with no help on the way."

5:30 pm Washington. Leon Panetta finishes meeting with the President.  He summons U.S. Africa Commander Carter Ham, Joint-Chief Chair, Martin Dempsey, and other Senior staff to discuss Benghazi. Meeting lasts over 2 hours.
Tripoli. Greg Hicks testifies that they're on their own, and have to try to pull this off with the resources they have.

12:00 am  Benghazi. The Annex is under attack. Hicks: "The second phase of this is that after the teams have returned to the Annex, they suffer for about an hour and a half of probing attacks."
After a two-hour scramble, Team Tripoli finally secures a charter plane, among those aboard, former Navy Seal, Glen Doherty.  Meanwhile, in Washington, State Department Counter-Terrorism official, Mark Thompson wants to know why the Ford Emergency Support Team (FEST) had not deployed as requested.

Mark Thompson: "The reason I was given was that this was not the time for the FEST. It might be too unsafe for the FEST."

Chaffetz: "How do you react to that?"

Thompson:  "We live by a code.  That code says you go after people when they're in peril .. when they're in the service of their country."

12:07 am Libya.

6:07 pm Washington. The State Department issues an internal Ops alert, an Al-Qaeda-linked, Ansur al-Sharia, is claiming responsibility for Benghazi.

12:30 am Twitter posts are calling for attacks on the Embassy in Tripoli.  Hicks:  "And so we now have to take care of ourselves."

1:00 am  Someone using Wickland's cell phone redials Hicks. The caller says the Ambassador is at the Benghazi Medical Center.
Hicks: "We learn that it is a hospital which is controlled by Ansur al-Sharia." Hicks suspects a trap.

1:15 am Libya. The American Charter plane from Tripoli arrives at the Benghazi airport, but there's a hitch. Hicks: "The Tripoli Team had to stay at the Benghazi airport, because they had no transport and not escort from the Libyans." The delay would give the terrorists time to set up another lethal assault.

2:00 am Tripoli.  Hicks gets a call from Washington. Secretary of State Clinton and Senior Staff called, to ask what was going on.

Hillary:  "I spoke with our charge in Tripoli, I talked with the then Libyan National Congress President to press him on greater support. We were reaching out to anyone we could find to get an update on Ambassador Stevens."

8:39 pm Washington. Five hours after the attacks began. After the 2 hour meeting, Panetta officially authorizes a military response (of sorts)
Panetta:  "First, we ordered a marine fleet anti-terrorism secure team to prepare, to deploy to Benghazi. A second fast platoon was ordered to prepare, to deploy to Tripoli. A special operations force, training in Central Europe, was ordered to prepare, to deploy to (inaudible).

Ayotte: "to prepare to deploy is not actual deployment of going to Benghazi."

Chaffetz: "Why did it take almost four and half hours to start the clock to prepare to deploy? We had people who were getting killed, we had an Ambassador who was missing. We didn't know when that attack was going to end, and the American Military did not respond."

Bret asks about the House Republicans' own Interim Progress report that concluded in April that "Department of Defense officials and military personnel reacted quickly to the attacks in Benghazi"

Bret Baier quotes the following from the House Joint Committee Report: "There were no planes, no helicopters, no armed drones, nothing could have saved the lives of the Americans killed in Benghazi."

He asks if he's reading it correctly. Chaffetz says the report is an interim report, that the discussion of what the military did and did not is not yet complete.

3:00 am Hicks receives a call from the Prime Minister of Libya.
Hicks: "I think it's the saddest phone call I've ever had in my life (choking up). He told me that Ambassador Stevens had passed away. I immediately telephoned Washington."

4:00 am   Benghazi.

10:00 pm  Washington. Secretary of State: "I spoke with President Obama later in the evening, to bring him up to date, to hear his perspective." (Only call that night.)

10:08 pm  Washington. Clinton issues a statement. Despite the months of security warnings in Benghazi and claims of responsibility by an Al-Qaeda affiliate, Clinton issues links the attack to the anti-Mohammed Video produced by Nakoula Basseley Nakoula.
Clinton (U.S. Department of State):  "Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet. The U.S. deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others."

4:45 am Benghazi.  The seven-man Tripoli response team finally leaves the Benghazi airport bound for the CIA Annex.

Panetta:  "Within 15 minutes of arriving at the Annex facility, they came under attack by mortar and rocket propelled grenades."

Hicks:  "The accuracy was terribly precise. The first mortar round was long. The next was short.  The next three landed on the roof.  Killed Glen and Tyrone."

Former Navy Seals, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods become the third and fourth Americans killed in Benghazi.

Hicks, still in Tripoli, knows he must send another plane to Benghazi.  "People in Benghazi had been fighting all night. They were tired. They were exhausted."

He orders a special forces team led by Lieutenant Colonel Steve H. Gibson, who he told to bring "our" people home. That's what he wanted to do. As Colonel Gibson and his three personnel were getting in their cars, he stopped, he called  them off and told Hicks he had not been authorized to go.

Chaffetz (?) asking question:  "How did personnel react to being called to stand down?"

Hicks:  "I will quote Lieutenant Colonel Gibson. He said this is the first time a diplomat has more balls than somebody in the Military."

Lieutenant Colonel Gibson later told Congress they were ordered not to stand down, but to stay IN Tripoli, due to threats against Americans there.

Gibson's boss is Africa Commander, four-star General Carter Ham who's at the Pentagon with Panetta and Dempsey. He declined to speak with Fox News, but met with Congressman Chaffetz about the lack of military response that night.

Chaffetz: He said they had proximity and capability but were not ordered to go.

3Conclusion: James Rosen continues with the events of September 12th, 2012 and more...
